About Hadover

Established over 30 years ago, Hadover Limited is a property company that provides industrial and commercial units for rent within Copley Mill, Stalybridge.

Built in 1827 by machine-maker James Wilkinson, Copley Mill was used for spinning cotton and continued to be used for this purpose right up until the mid 1970s. The mill pond and wheel have long since gone but the rest of the mill still remains and is a rare existing example of a stone cotton mill from the 1830s era. Copley Mill is now a Grade II Listed building, with wonderful views of the surrounding Pennine hills.

Copley Mill has been subject to a period of refurbishment which has seen the creation of business units that, whilst having lower rents than modern, purpose-built office complexes and commercial units, provide a suitable working environment within a building of character. The upper floors offer excellent natural light and all floors retain the original cast iron pillars.

Stalybridge is probably most well known as being the area where L S Lowry spent the last 28 years of his life. Over recent years, the town has become one of the growth areas in Cheshire and has received an influx of funds from many sources, including the National Lottery. A redevelopment of the town centre and restoration of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal have helped to make Stalybridge a perfect location for a business base in Tameside, close to Manchester but without having to pay city centre rental charges.
